TGS Association for Structure Development and Employment has been compiling labour market analyses since 2007. From 2007 to early 2011 these analyses focused on the Mecklenburg-Western Pomeranian metal- and electrical industry. During this time TGS published a total of 11 forecasting reports on the status of skilled personnel at (supplying) companies in the automotive, shipbuilding, and aerospace field, as well as renewable energies. TGS further investigated the labour market situation for skilled personnel holding typical metal- and electrical occupations through secondary analysis reports.

Since May of 2011 TGS has been handling the project “Development of industry and regional recommendations for action for the metal & electrical industry, food industry and hospitality industry of Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania” (EBRH). The objective of this project is to develop user-oriented industry recommendations for action, which are then to contribute to securing future skilled personnel requirements in consideration of the employment structure at companies and the specific analysis of the current and future pool of skilled personnel (internally and externally).

The project is financed by the Mecklenburg-Western Pomeranian Ministry of Economics, Construction and Tourism and the Foundation Neue Länder of the Otto Brenner Foundation. Ideal partners are IG Metall Küste, the NORDMETALL employers‘ association and the Regional Directorate North of the Federal Employment Office.
